The story revolves around Alice, a young professional battling a growing addiction to alcohol while desperately concealing the extent of her problem. Alongside Alice, we are introduced to Hannah and Craig, a power couple struggling with infertility, whose actions lead them down paths of betrayal and self-destruction. Ollie, a bullied and neglected teenager, finds solace and hope in a new girl named Sky. Lastly, Phil, a disgraced former PE teacher turned pub landlord, hides a dark and depraved secret.

Lamont skillfully weaves together the lives of these flawed characters, exposing their vulnerabilities, desires, and the consequences of their actions. Each chapter is presented in a diary format, providing a unique insight into the characters’ thoughts and emotions, adding depth and intimacy to their stories.

The strength of “Dear Diary, It’s Me” lies in Lamont’s ability to create a tense and suspenseful atmosphere throughout the book.
